Katie`s Frozen Custard in Waco

Well I've tasted a lot of icecream lately but there is one that stands out and its Katie'sice cream

Even the small is a good amount of custard.

What a fun retro drive- in! Limited menu offers just the right amount of options and the food is something different from the normal fast food restaurant. Spoon burgers are great as are the slaw dogs. The ice cream menu is also a blend of the unexpected and the usual like Cyclones and banana splits. Yummy yummy!!!

I enjoyed the dessert I had here. I was over sold this place a little. Though delicious it was nothing too special or out of this world. Staff was friendly and the dessert was creative, but just dessert.

My fiance and I took our nephews to enjoy some frozen custard this last Sunday and it was delicious! We also enjoyed a couple of their spoon burgers which I highly recommend as well as their Frito pie. They can do some work on their prices because they were a bit overpriced especially for what you got. But I cannot complain about the quality of the food they serve because that was definitely on point!

beautifully designed but not by price, the mixed shacks have driven me to return but the small size an cost has made me have extended time between when I go back longer an long does that grow. this is a summer to mid season but not winter due to seating is completely outdoors so I couldn't imagine hanging around an eating during the winter or during the rain. anyway if you want a bit of a sweet treat you should stop by.

The custard was delicious! The food looked pretty good too.

The featured custard ice cream was butter pecan and it was silky smooth and so very good and tasty and the friendly staff was very helpful.

Cones were very generous but cone itself was simple cone. Butter pecan has actual pecans. Seating is outside. Has drive-through.

LOVE THIS ICE CREAM.Hands down the best ice cream in texas. Whether you live there or are just visiting you should try Katie's.

First time trying Katie's and I felt the custard wasn't flavorful. I decided to try a hot fudge Sunday with peanuts. The hot fudge was suuuper sweet and the peanuts tasted stale. Not a great experience. I will try them again as i would like to try a burger and maybe the chocolate or butter pecan custard

Excellent frozen custard "ice cream"! Outdoor (covered) seating, small-town feel and easy to get to. You really need to try it!

This is good. Really a bit sweet to me. Didn't care for that.

Been going here for many years. We love this place. Hands down best icecream in town!

Awesome custard and burgers

I would have given them 5 stars but they took my favorite little burgers off the menu. Still love this place! Custard is the best! Wish they would bring back them burgers though!

Chocolate Chip Mint Cyclone is the best!

Not really the hype, if there is some. Gross burgers, made sloppy. Cashier had ear buds, was young and not courteous whatsoever.

I usually don’t write reviews but I purchased a strawberry shortcake cup today and definitely was not worth almost 7$ ! most of it was whip cream maybe 5 tiny strawberry pieces and a few pieces of dry shortcake oh and the custard hmmmm maybe one spoon full if that . If 1 could give out 0 stars I would ! Terrible

Went before work. Decided to try the Frito pie. Paid almost 8 bucks for a small box of Fritos, with one small scoop of chili and barely any cheese. Does not look like the pic!! Basically I paid 8 bucks for a box of Fritos. What a rip off!!! Get it together..

We stop here whenever we visit Waco. Premium Frozen Custard. This trip I got a Turtle Sundae. Next trip it's going to be a Turtle made with chocolate frozen custard. They also have concretes and milkshakes. You can't go wrong here if you love ice cream. Meant to take a pic, but it was gone before I remembered!

Went twice in 3 days after introducing my boyfriend to this deliciousness. Went there 10 years ago while in college. Glad to be back.

I payed $5 for a small cup of brownie and ice cream. For that price it should've been filled to the top but it wasn't, it only filled the cup up half way and wasn't even wide enough to be in the cup. It was good no doubt but a RIP off

Great Custard. I could sleep out front.

Wow. The brownie split was split by two and could have been split by 4! So good.

Butter Pecan custard. Some of the best I've had and I wish there was one closer to where I live. Or maybe I don't as I'd be there every day. If I had one thing to say, wish it had more pecans sometimes. I can't comment on much else as I haven't ever gotten anything else there. But if you like butter Pecan, give it a try here.

Didn't eat there. I would have liked to. We were the only ones there, the worker didn't come to the window when we were ready to order. Instead she stared off into the distance and had her finger in her mouth. I didn't want her to prepare anything for us so we left.

The custard is awesome and the fruit that they mix in is always fresh.

Cool little shack, great service and delicious food!

If you're looking for a cold treat on a warm day try a frozen custard instead of ice cream. Katie's has more than just custards, sundaes, and banana split. If you have the munchies thier hot dogs or slaw burgers that they call spoon burgers are worth a try.

Really good custard! This was a very busy place, so I suspect it is a good place to eat! They had a nice menu good variety. Lots of locals and it was pet friendly also, outside seating.

Love the custard,but depending on whose making my turtle sundae large disparity. :-(

We had the combos. What a great value. I had the spoon burger and the flavor was amazing. I also had the turtle sundae and was scraping the bottom. The only reason for the 4 stars is the proximity to a very busy and loud road. If the seating area was around the back it would definitely be a 5 star.

A very good friend of mines brought me here. Living here for about 3 years I've never been here. It was a treat! For the first time I felt like a little girl again. Service was awesome. And they're fast. I recommend you bring your kids. Make it a family trip.

Fresh made custard!!! Best in town my opinion. Butter pecan with any of your favorite toppings. Mine is extra pecans with cherries. But they have so much more. Try them all, I have.

Service was quick and friendly. Had the sugar-free vanilla custard in a hot fudge sundae. Custard was perfect: creamy, great flavor, nice portion. Hot fudge was thick and paired well with custard. But I ran out of hot fudge before I finished the custard. Hence, 4 stars.

I love their frozen custard! Great service and very reasonable prices. They also have a sugar-free variety and I can’t tell the difference in flavor. Lots of mix-ins available.

The ice cream that I had was good but they ran out of chocolate ice cream when we were there. Otherwise very good. It's nice that it is open so late
